IRCEnv (CIRAm) patronized 2nd edition of “In the sea for posidonia”
Organized by the Frosinone Latrina Chamber of Commerce, Informare, Golfo Vivo and the Municipality of Formia, the second edition of “In the sea for posidonia” took place on September 28, 2024, a wide-ranging event with the aim of restoring the sea of the Gulf of Gaeta to its ancient glories of good environmental health. The symbol of this initiative was posidonia, a marine plant endemic to the Mediterranean that the Gulf of Gaeta was once rich in. Then, with environmental degradation, the posidonia meadows in front of Gaeta, Formia and Scauri became extremely rarefied, reduced to a few tufts scattered here and there. “

Mediterranean Life Sciences Union (MedLIFE, https://2024.med-life.org/index.php) aims to create a unique confederation that serves as a global platform for scientists from all life sciences disciplines and countries to collaborate and promote research, joint multidisciplinary training and education, as well as to support access and sharing of information and resources from the Mediterranean.
The Interdepartmental Research Center for Environment, IRCEnv (CIRAm) participates in the Steering Committee and the Scientific Committee of the Confederation. Together with the MUNA-Mediterranean and Middle East University Network Agreement (Federico II University is the leader of 35 Mediterranean universities), CIRAm announces the first MedLife Conference.
The first MedLife Conference will be held in Istanbul (5-8 December 2024) and will cover many topics of life sciences related to specific scientific disciplinary groups. MedLIFE-24 will maintain a mixed mode, with both in-person and virtual participation. The proceedings will be published in a series of books (indexed in Scopus) by Springer, and there will be numerous special issues published in various important scientific journals (see -Publications- in the coming weeks, for site updates in progress). The deadline for submitting contributions (max. 350 words / 1 page) is July 31st.(https://2024.med-life.org/index.php?p=important-dates).

EURO-MUNA Summer School for Environmental Integration
(May 17, 2024 at 10:30-12:30)
The Interdepartmental Research Center for Environment, IRCEnv (CIRAm) and the Third Mission.
EURO-MUNA Summer School for Environmental Integration includes transversal research topics underway within the MUNA – Mediterranean and Middle East University Network Agreement consortium of which the University of Naples Federico II (Italy) is the leader of 35 Mediterranean universities. MUNA promotes dissemination, training and research projects. The training and potential planning are proposed at EMCEI-2024 by the Interdepartmental Research Center for the Environment, IRCEnv (CIRAm), of Federico II University (Italy). The objective is to provide graduate students and young scientists with useful information toward understanding how the synergy between different disciplines and the interdisciplinary approach are fundamental elements for achieving the SDGs and, above all, to propose new research approaches to be applied to handle the challenging environmental issues that our society will be called upon to face in the coming decades. The Summer School is chaired by Giulia Guerriero, CIRAm director (MUNA, Italy) and Azzouz Kchikach, local organizer (MUNA, Morocco).
EMCEI 2024
