The event "One Health: environmental damage and its impact on human health", held in Naples at the Auditorium of the Order of Physicians, in Via Riviera di Chiaia, 9/C, on 5 June 2026 from 08:30 to 14:30 and organised by the Order of Physicians, Surgeons and Dentists of Naples (OMCeO), provided an important opportunity for experts from the medical, scientific, institutional and environmental sectors to discuss the increasingly topical issue of the relationship between the environment and human health. The round table highlighted how environmental protection, disease prevention and health promotion are closely interlinked. In the sessions dedicated to environmental quality, the Interdepartmental Centre for Environmental Research, C.I.R.AM. (IRCEnv) stood out with a presentation by its deputy director, Prof. Massimo Fagnano, an expert in soil remediation. This was followed by presentations from epidemiologists and researchers specialising in pollution-related cancers, who highlighted the need for remediation and prevention strategies. The initiative provided a multidisciplinary perspective on the main health and environmental challenges facing the Campania region and the country as a whole, promoting the dissemination of knowledge useful for guiding future policies and actions.
